A Truck tarpaulin is used in a number of ways and come in a variety of sizes and thicknesses. They have to be much heavier than normal tarpaulins and are waterproof as well as being much thicker than what you would buy personally.

They have two uses which are to protect whatever is on the truck as well as giving an opportunity to act more like an advertising hoarding. This is more common when the tarpaulins act as curtains on the side of a truck which can then be drawn back to unload and load the goods.

Truck tarpaulins are made from thick polyester which is heavily treated to increase the wear and tear that they can handle. A truck tarp is also treated to withstand ultraviolet light as this can, over time, help to break them down and make them a lot weaker.

Truck tarps are not made for shelters or the other uses of normal tarpaulins but instead they have one main use which is protecting the goods. Due to the size they are often held down with a series of belts which are held tight against them to prevent movement.

The truck tarpaulins have to be made to certain industry standards to ensure that they are difficult to tear especially when they are being used on trucks due to the dangers it could cause to other road users. If you are having them made for the side of a truck then you can also have them screen printed so as they carry your company name and logo.

The truck tarps are very expensive to buy due to their dimensions but they do last a long time and can withstand a lot of abuse. A truck tarp can protect the goods that they are covering and are reinforced in order to make sure they can deal with whatever weather is thrown at them.
